| it depend the way you look at it, there is a way around this in the ifbb statues, but it depend on the president, this is a pandora box for us maltese bodybuilders, i believe that this will never happens, there is a lot of politics, in this issue, blade on another subject do you think Mario mind if i do an interview with him, hope your training is going fine. |

Darren told me that vince won't let him do the worlds if he competes with IFBB. ..... HOWEVER ... he has given the green light for his athletes to compete in WBPF...
The reason is obvious... once you are a member of IFBB you aren't allowed to compete elsewhere and I feel Vince doesn't want to risk losing a promising athlete as Darren. |

| First there is the IFBB competition then the NABBA one so he can compete in both...in that case Mario will suspend him not Vince..NABBA athletes can compete in ANY other federation but unlike Mario who is following IFBB international rules Nabba malta's owner is following his own rules...the irony is that than he is letting them compete in MBPF... |

Blade, Vince is using this as a scare tactic to keep him from joining IFBB....
Its politics man, plain and simple with MBPF he hasn't got an issue cause both presidents agreed that they compete in both federations. So he doesn't run a risk of losing athletes...
Politics suck especially in sports! |

| i am 63 years old and for the past 44 years i have been hammering the same tune, when some thing is build on individualisim, there is no room for lateral thinking, the ego of all local presidents, both past and present does not give way to any freedom and common sence, i do not want to put the blame on no one BUT the BODYBUILDERS themself, the free movement of thought and action is being jepritized becouse of the power some people holds. |

| I currently compete with NABBA but when I'll decide to switch no one is going to hold me from doing it. If Darren wished to compete with IFBB he should have told Vince that he would and if Vince would not let him compete with NABBA then that would be Vince's loss. |

Yes it would be great but won't happen next year. 2012 might be the year though many predict the World will end in that year!
Has anyone ever considered that instead of comepting in the European or World's the IFBB team goes to compete at the Amatuer Arnold? I know it involves more expenses but the athlete might find a sponsor to cover the difference. |

hehe so we must hurry up...
The Arnold Amateur would be great..it is basically the same level as the world championships if not a bit more...unfortunately none of the expenses are covered from the IFBB..so that would be very expensive..
Apart from that its only by invitation so one should have at least placed in the Europeans and/or Worlds.. |

Hi Blade,
Allessandro Savi, wasn't affiliated with IFBB before this contest and he competed... He was a professional Nabba athlete though. Does this means that Savi is Now ifbb athlete? |

I think the invitation obstacle can be easily surpassed by the intervention of the President mate, money is a whole different ball though mate. I write about the Arnold as it's probably the best venue for amatuers to be noticed. Tabrizi won the World's last year, didn you see anything on the major mags, maybe a small pic on flex if at all while the AA is widely covered in all the major BB press.
Which takes me to a different argument I wanted to put to you guys, Kamal spent some years as a Pro but he converted back to Amatuer as it pays him more being an amatuer than Pro! Isnt it depressing how badly paid are bodybuilders for all there efforts and not mentioning what we put our bodies through! Excluding the top 20guys all the rest of the Pro's either work or worse - (Kai and the Grapefuit:) ) I'm making no point in particular here just that it pisses me of that a half witted football player in Malta can make a living out of it while some of the best BB in the World don't! |

Well u r right about the Arnold Amateur but as far as i know national federations can submit their names but then the IFBB will choose who to send since they want the very best amateur athletes to participate in this show..
about the money u r totally correct...Egypt who year after year are the best national team in the worlds do not have any Pro except Tarek El Setouhi who has German citizenship...thats becuase its better for them to stay amateur...same for Middle-East guys like Kamal, Tabrizi & Sami..Its the few top guys who make a living in this sport...the others have to resort to other things...and this happens even more in female bodybuilding where almost all the athletes have porn websites apart from other things.. |

| all this is because the bodybuilders never used their head, why do you think the power that may be always divided bodybuilders, why is it that whenever there is a talk of a union, out of the blue the so called trouble makers are put away, it is a crying shame that a sport that is build on bodybuilders does not give back it's due, here i am talking about the IFBB, the promoters the suppliment industry, the whole lot, if there is no bodybuilding there are no shows, no Magazines, less suppliments etc, in the end you ask your self is the hassle worth it's while, some people risk body and soul, and in the end when all is over what would it have provided you with, just aches and pain and memories. |
